1. building an effective IT department according to industry standard approaches adapted to the university environment,
2. Bringing regional and global IT business in collaboration with the university. This issue is addressed by establishment of IT-Park - the form of cooperation and joint R&D work of the university and information technology companies.
3. Bringing the overall level if IT education to higher level by enriching it with practical, real life skills and capabilities. Creating possibilities for life-long learning of IT specialists.
1998 - 1999Research work in multimedia over IP over satellite link.
1996 - 2004Software development and system administration for the university network and its technical services and the same for the Yaroslavl regional network, for which the university is an operator and service provider (over 300 corporate users). My responsibilities were: maintaining the main network services (DNS, web hosting systems, e-mail server), network design, configuration and maintenance of routers and switches.
Apart from support work I was a leader in a number of R&D projects - high performance calculation cluster, content delivery network, distributed internet search system, IPv6 related development.
